Inniskeen Village Plan

In June 2026, Studio idir began working with Monaghan County Council and local residents as lead consultants on a village plan for Inniskeen, the birthplace of Patrick Kavanagh. We’ve been engaging and meeting with local residents in various ways since then, including our two Part 1s Emma and Beth. Last month they enjoyed attending the Inniskeen Road July Evening festival to speak with visitors.

They attended the Stroll through Kavanagh Country, organised by the Inniskeen Enterprise Development Group, which was a great opportunity to explore the heritage of the poet Patrick Kavanagh within Inniskeen! They experienced the village and surrounding countryside through readings of Kavanagh’s poetry and musical performances, talking to both locals and visitors alike to learn what is important to Inniskeen, and understand the significant literary heritage of the village.

We are looking forward to sharing the village plan as it emerges!
