The Concept

This extension to a period semi-detached house in South Belfast created more space for a growing family.  Arched doorways echo the arches of the adjacent church, while solid timber parquet floors and wood panelling internally give a period feel with a contemporary flair.

The previous owners had been told by their architect that an attic conversion wasn’t possible, but we managed to work to the limits of the building regulations and squeeze a staircase in above the existing stair to create two lovely new loft-style children’s bedrooms, with no dormer required.  Meanwhile, one redundant bedroom on the first floor was converted into a luxurious en-suite, off the master.
